Multiple trade outlets are reporting that Avengers: Secret Wars will begin principal photography at Trilith Studios in Atlanta in October, directly after the Doomsday reshoot window closes.
Marvel has not confirmed this, which is why this article is badged Report rather than Confirmed. The reporting is credible and consistent across outlets; it is still not an announcement.
Why the timing is plausible
An October start is consistent with a December 2027 release and with the date change announced last week. It also fits the pattern of the two films being produced as one continuous block, which the Russo brothers have done before with Infinity War and Endgame.
Back-to-back shooting is why the two films' schedules are locked together, and why one moving forces the other to move.
What a production start would tell us
More than it sounds. A call sheet is the single most reliable source of casting information in this business, because performers have to physically be somewhere. If Secret Wars starts in October, the roster becomes knowable in a way that no amount of trailer analysis can match.
- Which returning cast are on location, and for how long
- Whether the Thor and Captain America blocks overlap
- How much of the film is stage work versus location
What we are not saying
We are not reporting a cast list. Several aggregators have run one this week, sourced to an anonymous post, and we have no way to stand behind it. When Marvel or a named trade confirms names, this page will be updated and the update will be logged below.
